It has been way to long, but I finally built something this past weekend. I needed a table to go with my BBQ, this is what I came up with....
I got the wood from Anchor Hardwoods in Raleigh, nice folks!
Thanks,
Bill
I will be having a BBQ on October 15 th for the Charlotte Woodturning group from 10-2. It will be focused on how to prepare a blank, but a slabbing and sawing demonstration will be given as well. Organic smoked Tamworth pork from Grateful Growers (Denver NC) will be served and a variation on...
With a 3 day weekend almost here a lot of folks are planning on a cookout. The CPSC has issued some safety guidelines including a link to check if your grill has been subject to a recall. I wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. :wsmile...
A while back I mentioned that I might have wood to bring Mike at the BBQ, but might be space constrained (it will not fit in the car with the kids). Someone else posted that they were planning to go and had room in a pickup bed. I cannot remember who or find which thread. It's actually a...
Here is a quick update:
Assuming 125 people we are looking at $625.00 plus tax for Danny's BBQ. The price is $5.00 per head. This includes:
30 lbs pork
4 gals baked beans
4 gals cole slaw
15 lbs beef brisket
In addition to this we will have members bring drinks, snacks, sides, desserts...
For those who want to know, the sauce was George's Original (about $14.00 a gallon.) I get it at local store which sells BBQ supplies. I think Nahunta carries it also. The hush puppie mix was House Autry, with onions. Food Lion carries it. When you make them at home, they will be a bit heavier...
I know NOTHING about doing Lexington style BBQ. If someone will bring some sauce (or what ever than red stuff you put on perfectly good pork,) I will save out part of the pork, and we can add at picnic site. Otherwise, it's Georges all the way. Just let me know. Sorry about late post, but I just...
Spring is on the way and hopefully we have all survived this harsh winter.
I'd like to invite the members to my place in the country for BBQ and talk of woodworking, maybe even some demonstrations and/or instruction.
First my driveway has to dry enough to let the bulldozers and gravel...
I'd like to have a small BBQ/get together at my place Saturday September 26.
Nothing big nor fancy, I'll have beef and chicken maybe some veggies. You are welcome to bring a covered dish or drinks.
If you would like to come please let me know so we can cook enough to serve everyone.
If...
Hey All,
This thread is not a discussion about BBQ, but rather a chance for a few of you people to put your money where you mouth is....as in BBQ sauces .
The picnic is coming and the meat will be cooking soon, so it's time to bring out your best sauce recipes. We can have a table set up...
I am going to have to postpone or maybe cancel my BBQ this year due to work that will have to be done on my Mothers estate and possibly moving. Not sure right now how and when all will have to be done. My Mother's house has to be cleaned out and sold. And my house is under contract again and...
With all the talk about what NCWW was, is, and will be, I thought this might be a good time to piece together the 'official' history of NCWW. I've heard the stories a few times, but with every telling new details crop up. In part that's because good stories get better due to embellishments, but...
It's been a long while since we last had a Charlotte-area get together ... and though we have one coming up in March around the show, I figured I'd see if there is any interest in having one this week after hours.
We will meet in Matthews at Elliots BBQ (near Woodcraft) at 6:00 PM this...
If any of you bowl turners would like some Black Walnut, I have several log pieces that are 8' long or so and anywhere from 4" to 10" or so in size. These are mostly large limbs from two large walnut trees that were cut about a year ago.
I would be glad to cut this into shorter pieces and...
Hello all,
i am looking for suggestions on what wood to use on the side tables for my outdoor bbq. i know that teak would probably hold up but a little too expensive for me. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
also any suggestions on what finish for the wood would be good too...
