Hello all,
i am looking for suggestions on what wood to use on the side tables for my outdoor bbq. i know that teak would probably hold up but a little too expensive for me. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
also any suggestions on what finish for the wood would be good too.
thanks,
curt

White Oak is very weather resistant. Ipe would be another alternative depending on the amount that you need. Cypress could be used but it might be a litlle soft and porus. There is another tropical hardwood that is being used in decking applications like Ipe, but with much less cost. It goes by the names of Mangaris, Mengaris, Red or Yellow Balau Koompassia excelsa and it could be an excellent choice.

I like Penofin products for outdoor wood.

Treated yellow pine. Not near as poisoness as it use to be-you can feed it to your kids for breakfast (ha!)

Mahogany is another outdoor choice. Someone here has mahogany screen doors posted in their gallery but I can't remember who.:eusa_doh: but they looked nice. My brain needs an assist please. :BangHead:
