Nineteen years ago today at 7:23AM my first child (son) was born. Even through the distant haze of all those days, weeks, months and years of time between then and now I still vividly recall walking out of the hospital that New England summer morning on cloud nine.

Now that boy is off on his first week of college and out of the nest. I called him this morning to wish him a happy birthday and poignantly realized he is a man now. Enjoy every second of it while you have the opportunity because like me, your child will fly before you know it Tom.
