Chest for my Grandson -- Plans from American Woodworker, Feb. 2000. Made of White Oak. All Mortise and Tenon construction. Chest is 26-1/2'' high by 48'' wide by 19'' deep. Chest is finished in time for Christmas, but the final Finish needs to wait until my shop is a little warmer!

Home Despot used to carry a line of 'contractor grade" cabinets. They were along the back wall in the Hickory store. It seems that they have discontinued them.
Would anyone here know of a place where one might find these.
These cabinets were made out of MDF for the case with a "hardwood" face...
I finally completed the cedar-lined hope chest. This is one of my first project completions and I appreciate the help/advice many of you gave. The biggest lesson I learned - Finishing is a whole new art and I need a lot more practice.
