Need suggestions: drilling a 2 3/8" hole at 45 degrees

:help: I need to drill a series of holes 2 3/8" in diameter through a 1/2" board at a 45 degree angle. I have tried mount the board on a 45 degree jig clamped to my drill press (I even screwed it to the jig at one point to keep it steady). I have used a hole saw and a forstner bit with the speed...

    Drill a centered hole...

I might not have invented the wheel, but hey someone did.... While using my egg beater drill to drill 5/32 holes in the center of 3/16 dowels (making circular knitting needles), any drill bit I tried would wander off the center mark. I tried both 118 degree twist bits and brad point. By...

    Pocket Hole Jig 50% off

Peachtree Woodworking Supply has a "Kreg knock-off" pocket hole jig system on sale for 50% off ($64.99). Anybody have any experience with this set? Looks sorta like the Kreg K3 Master System. I have NO idea what the quality might be like. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Enter at your own...

    Castle Pocket hole machine

I thought about buying it. Came to my senses when I thought about it though. I don't think Bernhard or Scott have one so that excludes me. ;-) http://raleigh.craigslist.org/tls/732245988.html

    Drilling a simple little hole

How would you drill a simple hole straight and centered on the end of a 7' 4x4 post? Going to be a bed post. Hole is for the finial. Have thought about about it and can't come up with a solution. No lathe available and I am not sure a 7' post would even fit on all but the longest ones...

    Fence Post Hole Question

I have started building the fence I have posted about in the past. Today I started digging the post holes using a one man auger with an 8" bit. I am now completely exhausted! The problem is the holes aren't done! I got about 12" down and hit clay that might as well be called brick! The auger...

    Drill hole in china plate.....

Ok, this has me stumped. I'm trying to drill a small hole in a china saucer for a teacup. The end result is to attach it to a pole and make a mini bird bath (my mothers plan). I've ruined 3 kinds of drill bits at various speeds and barely scratched it. Or, the saucer shatters...

    Pocket Hole Jig

I am considering getting a pocket hole jig. Not sure which jig, but I need some input as to if using pocket holes to attach wood together works good, or if it comes in handy from time to time.

Opinions on Kreg pocket hole jigs

The quest to spend the rest of my B-day money is on. I have thought about a new TS blade, more clamps and other things. But I have heard great things about pocket hole jointery, and that is something that I don't have a jig for. I have $100 to spend at Amazon and have been looking at the Kreg K3...

    Threaded hole in miter slot

I just bought a DeWalt Woodworker's Table Saw and both miter slots have a threaded hole in the bottom. Anybody know what those are for?
