Yes, thats what I need to make. About 30 of them. They are about 16" by 28".

Would you folks who know scroll sawery have any suggestions on how I could cut them out?

Any specific kind of blade for cardboard?

I think I would gang cut them.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Jim from my experience in cutting carboard with an utlity knife it dulls it quick - any reason why you are cutting them out of carboard - If you do cut them I would suggest stack cutting them at least three high if not four high for better control = If you can get some of the Flying Dutchman blades I think they would do you the best - as to what size - If you do not have much detail I would go with a #5 - MTCW

sandwich them tightly between 2 1/8" pieces of ply using clear packing tape with the stack being no more than 1 " high , then cut away with a #5 Flying Dutchman Polar :icon_thum
The packing tape will help lube the blade. Put the tape on , then the pattern to reduce glare from the tape whilst you are cutting

Polar blades - will that keep it from getting too hot? :rotflm:
All kidding aside, I would be tempted to be more aggressive in blade size to try to keep from it heating up too much. I have cut paper in a stack before and had a little smoke.

No one has asked WHY, Why cardboard fish hats. It won't help you with your project, but dang it will satisfy my curiosity.

Any particular reason for wanting to use a scroll saw in lieu of a bandsaw?

How thick is the cardboard? I would also like to see the design before giving a recommendation.

I see ya'll aren't up on the latest in aquatic fashion accessories as featured in this months issue of Vague......

These are cardboard cut outs that represent a fish, as approached from the right lateral side. Which then we human type folk paint up and wear upon on their heads, as hats.

Here is a pic taken of the full scale template I was provided.

The cardboard will be whatever scraps big enough I can find, so I'm guess 3/16"?

I thought about scroll saw as the blades are cheaper than bandsaw blades. I assumed the cardboard would be rough of the blades.

Now, who wants to join me in a rousing chorus of "Fish Heads"??

Having seen the pattern, I gotta go with George the Gator - bandsaw! It will take you far less time.

Didn't have to pay to get it in

They're not good dancers, they don't play drums
