    Pricing custom cabinet work

I'm curious how others price their cabinet work. I've bidding a job for some simple bath and kitchen cabinets and I've figured my cost for materials only to about $800. I'm not into trying to estimate my time because, frankly, I like to take my time to get it done right, plus I've never timed...

I posted this thread: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f81/insulation-question-23930/ and I would like to find someone to give me a quote on getting the ceiling insulated in my garage. I figured that I would see if anyone here does this kind of stuff in the matthews area, before I start...

work in progress--walnut dining room table

NC woodworker in need of moral support--I'm staring down some major sanding, a lot of finishing work, and then I'll probably break my back moving the dang thing into the dining room. It's massive!

    Now for some flat work

I was playing with some cypress and my current deck box was not holding up well. I decided that cypress was probably the best wood for an outdoor project. So my smoking chips are now housed in this cypress deck box. I originally put hinges on it but did not have three hinges alike, so I built...

    Sharpening Station & Laminate Work

Most of you followed and many took advantage of the shop cabinet deal in Charlotte a few weeks back. Well, in that deal I picked up a base cabinet for $10 that was just taking up space in my already cramped space. So, I had to do something with it. Not exactly (ok, not even close to) fine...

    how wood measurements work....

First off, I am new to woodworking.... I see wood for sale.... 4/4,8/4 etc. at 2.00 b/f. I understand that 4/4=1 inch thick, 8/4=2 inch thick. But with the 2.00 b/f does this mean a linear foot? or a square foot? I thought it was a linear foot until I saw an ad for 6 inch, 8 inch and 4 inch...
