    Gifts for the wife...

As you all know I am very knew, not only to woodworking, but to this forum. As a newbie to the hobby, I have spent the last 4-5 years spending money hand-over-fist collecting tools, and countless hours online and with my nose in books learning. I've done all of this with the blessing and...

Teacher Gifts - Cutting board finish question

Hey Folks, Working on some teacher gifts, and was wondering if anyone had a quick and easy finishing idea for some hard maple cutting boards with walnut dice pattern. I have used shellac in the past, and also wiped on cooking oil, and was curious as to what some others generally use. Thanks..

NEED New Tool to Complete Christmas Gifts

I need some honest supporting feedback. Is it reasonable to tell LOYL that you need an OSS to complete 5 BS boxes that she wants to hand out to her friends before Christmas? I have never made a BS box but it looks like a LOT of sanding. I guess I should ask if the timeline is reasonable...

    Couple other quick gifts!

I had to come up with a couple quick gifts for my FIL's b-day and a pretty late mothers day gift for my step MIL. The pen is for my FIL. Ebony courtesy of HPM67 (Thanks Mike!) Bottle Stopper for his wife. Not thrilled with the shape, but the maple is fantastic!

    Last minute Xmas gifts

The LOML asked if I could make a cutting board for her aunt. Sure, no problem. Raided the scrap stock pile and came up with this. The design, OK, the construction, came out pretty well. I will give it a hardy rubbing of mineral oil between now and Christmas. And hope her aunt is happy. Dave:-)
