Air Drying Wood ?

Drying Cedar

Idea for drying lumber
I need a cheap way to finish drying small amounts of wood for projects. My wife will kill me if I drag anything else into the house. I can only wood down to about 12% to 14% moisture in my workshop. Drying turning blanks???
I recently bought some turning squares of Osage Orange and Tulipwood (2" x 2" x 12"). They are wax coated entirely. I checked their MC with my HF moisture meter :roll: and it read around 14%. I plan to cut them into pen blanks. My question is if I should leave the wax coating on them or scrape...- DaveO

attic drying
I have a large walkup attic that gets pretty darn hot in the summer. I plan to stack some of Jeff's 8/4 wood up there to dry it and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and any thoughts or advice. Rocker -

Drying Beech

DNA drying green hollow form??????
I was wondering if and how to dry a green hollow form with DNA? I know for a bowl you rough turn to about 3/4 inch and wrap bottom half up to the opening with a brown paper bag but what do you do on a hollow form? Slow drying poly
Has anyone had any trouble with Minwax Polyurathane drying? The last two projects I've used it on has taken 3-4 days for a coat to dry. The weather here has been unusualy warm and dry. Can it be too old? I don't remember having any trouble with Minwax products before.- Larry Rose
