    Loft Bed Plans?

My wife asked me if I could make a "Loft Bed" for our daughter. Of course I said "sure, that should be easy". :D It really shouldn't be very hard and I bet I could just wing it and do okay. Are there any decent plans on the internet for a Loft Bed? I did a search and didn't find much. I...

    Grain Filler On Wenge?

Thanks for the tips guys. I bought some Crystalac but I am still not doing too well. I will try again this week with a different approach. If this doesn't work I might try the epoxy method. :)

    Grain Filler On Wenge?

Hey guys, I am trying to finish this Wenge drum shell I made with Minwax Wipe On Poly. What I am shooting for eventually is a smooth, glass like finish. :D As you may know Wenge has a porous, open, irregular grain. I did about 5 coats on this thing a couple weeks ago and I thought the gloss...

    Check Out This Padauk

Yeah, these boards were at Woodcraft. I pulled them out of a stack of Padauk because of the sapwood and the fact that they were a matched pair. The guy at the counter said "YOU GOT THOSE BACK THERE?" I think he was as excited as I was. :D

    Check Out This Padauk

This is some of the best looking Padauk I have seen. These two 10ft boards are book matched. The skinnier one came off the top of the wider one. I am making a be-bop kit out of them. 14"x18" kick drum, 14"x14" floortom and a 8"x12" hi-tom. I have enough scrap left over to make a snare shell...

Anybody tried one of thesse router bits?

I wonder how this bit would do for rounding out my drums shells? I am tempted to order the 3/4 bit and give it a whirl. :-)

    I built a router table

Well, I messed up my measurements for my fence adjustment slots. I wanted to have 4 slots total, 2 on each side of the router evenly spaced between my braces in the fence. It turns out that right where I thought I was putting my outside slots is right where the legs are. I am going to think...

    I built a router table

I have 4 joists between the side rails. 2 in the center around the router and 2 half way back to the edge. Then, obviously the side rails. The 3/4 plywood under the melamine is screwed down tight. I predrilled and counter sunk all the screws. :)

    I built a router table

I cut some oak trim and worked on the fence today. Turned out okay. I still need to make my adjustment slots.

    I built a router table

It is laminated MDF. I think most of the less expensive router tops I have seen are made of the same material. I am no expert here, I'm sure the core will soak up some moisture but I don't think the Melamine is going to soak up much moisture. Please correct me if I am wrong. I hope it works...

    I built a router table

Hey guys, I bought a new router last week because I needed more power and variable speed. Got home with it and figured out that my little Ryobi router table was not going to cut it. So, I built myself a new one. It's not done yet, I still need to build the fence and finish a few odd things...

    Router Speed VS Bit Diameter?

The main bit that I use is a 60 degree chamfer bit. It is about 2.5" wide. I would think it needs to spin slower. I am slowly figuring out what works and what doesn't work with my router.

    Router Speed VS Bit Diameter?

Is there a rule of thumb for setting your router speed for different bits with different diameters? I know that wide bits don't need to spin at 25000 rpms but is a rule of thumb for this? Thanks :)

    Carbide Router Bits

I probably put this in the wrong forum. :eusa_thin If a Mod wants to move this to power tools that would be cool.

    Carbide Router Bits

Hey guys, How much use should you get out of a carbide router bit before it starts losing it's edge? I have a Whiteside 60* bit that I do my edges with and it doesn't seem to be cutting very well anymore. I have only done 2 edges on 7 drum shells with it and it is just scaring the heck out of...

    My Craftsman TS Renovation

Those pics are mid process. I start out with 4/4" boards. I usually go down to 1/2" to 3/8" depending on the material. I stopped at 1/2" on these. I started getting nervous with the Wenge. :D
