Very happy with how this turned out.

Hey all,

I made this box for a very good friend of mine as a Christmas gift.

The lid is a piece of book matched curly Redwood. The box is made from Wenge with Maple splines.

Brusso hardware.

Odies finish.

It has a few “whoopsies” that I wish weren’t there but it adds to the handmade aspect. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. :)

Jay, beautiful work! Everything I have ever built has one or more"whoopsies"; for me it is an irritating reality of my woodworking journey.

You should be very happy with how it turned out because it's a great piece of work! Whoopsies are how we learn to do things better the next time. One of the things that gives you a reason for making it the next time :)

You must have been sitting on the redwood for a while. Certainly picked a great time to use it. Nicely done.
