Haven't had the time to do all the turning I'd like to, but today decided I'd make some time.

I know several others have done bottle stoppers, but this is my first attempt.
I'm not sure the proportions are exactly where they should be, but the spalted, red oak I used makes up for a lot of shortcomings.

Your proportions are excellent and your wood is OUTSTANDING. Beautiful work. Just one tip, put a little silicon adhesive or CA on the dowel then slip on the stopper part. My first ones got stuck in the bottle, the press fit wasn't enough :eusa_doh:

I always thought that when you opened a bottle you were supposed to drink it all :-? so I never used a stopper. It looks good to me and I really like your choice of wood.
