Interesting concept, looks like an air driven reciprocating drive. Should be pretty accurate.

It is not perfect. It is missing a light. I would love to see how the machine locks the top and bottom of the blade. I suspect it is not locked in on the bottom and they are using a specially designed blade. Even with that I would love to play with it for a couple hours.

I think it is locked on the bottom. Watch closely around the 2:00 mark. There is a reciprocating part on the bottom and there is some other part that is operating when he raises/lowers the blade. He is being very precise and in the process a bit slow IMO. I cut thicker wood faster than that sometimes, but I break some blades doing it.

This machine is sold through WinPack Machinery Company of Taiwan via Alibaba.com to foreign companies and domestic Chinese companies; and other than fact that the manufacturer only makes 5 of these per month - you would have a very hard time getting replacement parts if at all. WinPack Machinery is a consortium of various Chinese manufacturers who rely on WinPack to handle foreign and domestic sales and customs regulations for them. It is also a clever way for these smaller MFG's to gain world-wide recognition and hopefully hit the "big time" in NA or EU with their products. Just remember your Latin - caveat emptor!

Joe, looks like it functions similar to mine. I like the auto-chuck feature and it does have a nice light. I would like to buy one. What do you think it would cost to ship 3,000 lbs of cast iron from China?

I asked them for a quote, but unfortunately was just a *little* beyond my budget... $11,400 for the machine + $100 "heat treatment" + $844 to ship it to the Charleston SC seaport.
