Looks like a mill based on Bill Rake's design. Many people have built mills using his plans. Really simple, and works like a charm. A perfect combo- A mill built from Bill's plans and a solar kiln.

Looks like a great little saw for hobby milling. If your thinking about getting a band mill I would give this one a close look. I think your right, a mill and a solar kiln would be a great combo:icon_thum.
