I had been looking for weathered wood to make a mirror frame when it dawned on me that I had dock full of it down on the coast.
The dock has 16 years of sun and saltwater weathering and the seating area really needed to be replaced as it had become very rough, full of splinters etc. Duh? There was my weathered wood! It started out as #2 PT and now is beautiful. It has a lot of texture where the sapwood has weathered away that doesn't show very well in the photo. All I did was put a bit of light brown stain on it to change the overall tone from gray to brown.
