I had been looking for weathered wood to make a mirror frame when it dawned on me that I had dock full of it down on the coast.
The dock has 16 years of sun and saltwater weathering and the seating area really needed to be replaced as it had become very rough, full of splinters etc. Duh...
We have demolished several old flu-cured tobacco barns in our area. Most of the sheathing was done with rough-sawn Southern Yellow Pine boards; many cut from the farm where the tobacco barn was constructed.
The interior of my shop is finished with these recycled boards. Now I am attempting...
