Raleigh area Lunch Bunch Meets this Friday

This coming Friday is the third Friday of the month. So...

Please meet us at Carolina Ale House in Brier Creek Shopping center at 11:30AM on Friday the 18th.

From Raleigh and points south take I-540 to US-70 towards Durham go through the light at Brier Creek and take the very next right at the Best Buy. Restaurant is on the right. From Durham take US-70 and turn left on Brier Creek then left into the shopping center. The restaurant is in the back left corner across from the Best Buy.

New and old members are welcome. Come talk some shop.

To elaborate a little on Kevin's answer to Dan.

Birds, cougars, other animals - some that you'd bet a taxidermist prepared. There are a lot of talented carvers in the area. Paul Rolfe, the store manager in Raleigh is a master carver and runs an apprenticeship program out of the store if you're interested in learning more. There is also a carving club that meets once a month at the store. Those folks will be there helping to run and judge the show.

Stop by and view the entries in the contest this Saturday. You won't be sorry. Everything from amateurs starting out to very professional looking carvings.

Wished you were closer - my son has got a line on some 36" plus diameter by 16' long walnut logs. I know I just had to go and move off didn't I?
