Jewelry Boxes

Jewelry boxes for my wife, daughter and daughter-in-law have been on my to-do list for several years and I finally got around to it. The two boxes with dovetail splines (daughter/daughter-in-law) are made from sapele with hard maple tops and splines, while the center box is mahogany with a hard maple top and splines made from laminating hard maple and purple heart. The sapele boxes have stopped leaf hinges while the mahogany box has quadrant hinges; I did this for no particular reason other than to try something different. The finish is five coats of Minwax wipe-on poly, warm gloss.
