There are a handful of Vbulletin plugins that offer variations. Many let you add countdown timers to your profile or you signature.

This could be pretty neat for things like Calendar voting or shop crawls.

Wanted to see what ya'll think?

Would this add some neat-oh-ness to the site or increase clutter? Or both!

Pretty slick, nothing against it, but will it add anything beyond the "Events", "Marquee" and reminders we post? I.e. will it really improve people responding?
Now if we had a backward counting animated LED box....

I do think it would improve some responses. Jeremy's "3 weeks till crawl" post and the Running Rooster in the Marquee lead to a spike in Crawl participant registrations.

After hearing and talking with some members, its becoming clear some important messages aren't getting out. So I'm looking for ways to put "event" info at the forefront. Things that transcend a Thread based discussion include Fund Raisers, Crawls, Group Buys, Demos, Picnics, Contests, etc.

The countdown probably won't be as effective in a signature (like the example pics).

Also agree its redundant in the Marquee.

My goal is to keep events in peoples minds. As the Mind Control Plugin can't penetrate Roger's Mind Shield Helmet, I'm looking for other options.

Now you know my evil master plan and one of the shark's with lasers in my fleet!
