My bench is a copy of a shaker bench found in Pittsfield MA. They didn't make anything light along this line, mine weighs in the area of 800 lb. empty. It has six huge drawers and an open spot underneath for larger items, as well as the built in vise. I know it's overkill, but I liked the look, the storage, and the fact that I can push or tug on it and it's going to stay put, but I can move it if I need to.
