Henry,

I've only done one natural-edged bowl. I finished it with BLO and just dabbed it on the bark. I'd imagine you could try spraying it too. :eusa_thin You'll probably get other responses, but that's the way I've done it. :icon_thum

henry,

i turn a lot of natural edge bowls and i us ca glue to strengthen the bark which leaves a nice finish on the bark, use a latex glove and drip on the bark or on glove rubbing it in, then regular finish, i use spray laquer or spray shellac makes a nice finish.

Thanks guys. I haven't finished this yet, but i tried another smaller piece. I think i just dabbed thin shellac and that seemed to work.

I am a little leery of using CA here - since I generally manage to get it everywhere. What consistency CA glue are you using? Thin would be my guess.

henry i use thin just put a drop or two on finger of glove spread over bark area , i most never lose a drop you want it just on the bark, strenghtens it against comming losse while turning and sanding.

hopethis helps , cliff
