Finish over Waterlox

Does anyone have experience with putting a finish over Waterlox?

I have put on six coats of Waterlox and would like to finish whith Shellac or Lacquer, but I'm not sure how that will work.

Waterlox (a wiping varnish) is a more durable finish than shellac or lacquer, why would you want to add them into the mix?

What Waterlox are you referring to? "Waterlox" is a brand name for a family of finishing products. Perhaps you are referring to one of the Waterlox Original varnishes like Gloss, Sealer/Finish or Satin.

Any of these varnishes are much more durable and protective than shellac or lacquer. If you like what it looks like now, declare victory.
