Craftsman 10" Flex drive Table Saw

Someone is selling a Craftsman 10" Flex drive Table Saw for $75 is it worth it? What is Flex drive and problems associated with it?

The main problem is it is a POS from the get go. Only if you are looking for a $75 boat anchor should you consider it.

Is it worth $75, probably if it is in good shape. Is it a good buy probably not unless all you have to spend is $75. The "Flex-drive" system is like a weed-eater shaft where there is a flexible square shaft the drives the blade. The flexibility allows the blade to be tilted while still remaining attached to the "flex-cable". Replacement parts are hard to come by, and the flex-shaft requires a fair bit of maintenance.
Buy the best tool you can afford, and buy it only once. Buy cheap and you'll buy again

From someone who used to think Craftsman saws were the cats meow, you prolly made the right decision. Egad I'm becoming a tool snob.

There are some good decent Cman saws out there but the flex drive models aren't one of them.
