Compound Cut "Love You"
Steve Good design uses a piece of pine 2x4 ripped down to proper dimensions.
Even though the piece is 1 1/2 inches thick, I still use my number 5 ultra reverse tooth blades for all the cutting.
This is an extremely slow cut (about 30 minutes given the minimal detail) take your time and let the blade do the work. Once you flip the piece and start cutting the other side you will have "Negative" space for the blade to cut through (picture) this will change your feed rate into the blade considerably and you need to keep a tight grip on the piece throughout.
After cutting, I sanded and stained it then clear coated.

Once again, nice work. Did it take longer because of the thickness of the blade? Just wondering how it would go if you used something hard like walnut.

Walnut actually cuts very well on a scroll saw. 1 1/2 inches is about max for scroll saw. I would probably use a #5 or #7 skip tooth blade (Flying Dutchman Polar blade or Pegas skip tooth) to cut that. I am not a big fan of reverse tooth blades on compound cuts like that.
