We were cutting up some QS sycamore and came across this spalted piece. There is no finish on it - it is sanded to 1000 grit.

You would lose the effect of the spalting on a small scale like a pen. I see a box top or two. That spalted wood is dangerous to work with, the fungus will mess you up :XXpuke: :bduh: Send it to me and I'll keep it so it can't harm anyone :lol: :lol: :lol:

wow...very nice! certainly not something you come across everyday. It looks to me that it is in perfect spoiled condition :) Please post pix of what you make with it!!!

Now that' s one nice looking piece of Sycamore. Be sure to show pictures of whatever you make with it.

I suspect that we'll give it general shape, round over the edges and use it as it. It's too pretty to cut up.
