Barbara the second one is just cut out of 3/4 poplar at a 4 degree angel so when assembled the parts project out about 1/4". I just stained the pieces before assembly. They are held in place with a dab of hot glue. They only tricky part is the star. To cut the star not only do you need to cut at 4 degrees but your started hole must be drilled at 4 degrees too.

Very nice work Scott!!!!:icon_thum:icon_thum:icon_thum

Love seeing the 3D effect. Add's plenty of depth.

They will be selling great in the next few weeks.

Nice job, Scott! You have been busy since I last saw you.
Is the backing in the first pic that piece of walnut from Fred?

Keep up the great work.

Cool!!!! I think the shepherd's hook is very difficult too. Were you able to keep the cut-outs from the "waste" of either? It would be great if you could somehow wound up with 4 for the effort. Great work as always!! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Great work Scott.
The second is similar to a piece I've had a lot of requests for. It is thick, and the pieces slide so you can highlight them or just a slight shadow line.
