A couple of weeks ago we sent a pm to a lot of people, and asked them to forward it to everyone on their contact list:XXcompute. In the pm we suggested that we as a group take up a collection for Steve Coles' birthday:widea:. We were going to make a group donation in his honor, to this wonderful meeting place he has created. We were also going to present it to him early, at the Fall Gathering in the Mountains. Well as luck would have it, Steve and his wife were not able to make it to the mountains
. That was bad in a way but it was also good in a way. We were able to come together as a group and get some more donations together:eusa_danc. The donations that were sent to me by pay pal, and paid by cash were forwarded by the North Carolina Woodworker donation link on the home page via pay pal. The checks that were written were put in an envelope and sent overnight by Fed X on the 14th. That was yesterday. This was a huge success in my opinion and was a group effort.
