I just put a graphite "platen" on my old old portable belt sander.
It runs so much better! Motor doesn't labor nearly as much when its running.
I used the cloth backed graphite from Klingspor. GRAPHITE ROLL 3" X 1 #GR44890

Just make sure that the total tool weight is balanced and the belt loops on your britches are secure!

Ok, my neighbor wasn't home to borrow his belt sander :eusa_doh:, so I went to Home Depot and bought the Rigid R2720 belt sander. I fired up my new toy over the weekend and here are my thoughts:
