ME! :eusa_danc
Long divorce story short.... I have my house/shop back under my control and have already begun cleaning and moving back in. I'll be moving equipment over the next week and will have the old shop back up in just a few weeks assuming I can wrangle some help moving some large...
so logged in this morning to find David Manson is back with over 4 million (oops) BILLION posts again, and it kind of blows my mind. had thought before that I would be able to change post count in the profile, but that didn't work. Notice that this appears to be the same post count as...
Decided to start sawing again, Went out and serviced my saw mill and bobcat today and cut a couple cedars. I still don't trust my truck for pulling after I welded the cracked block but I'll be getting a new one soon.
Let me know if you are after lumber
Thanks
I'm officially back! My first project post poison and burn. This is the copy of a reign deer I promised a friend last Christmas. It took OzzieX a while to get me the blank and then I had to get the nerve to actually cut it after an uncertain layout free hand!
It's good to choke on saw dust...
Well, I am back from not so sunny CA. I've been gone so long becuase I travel by train both ways. And being stranded for 8 hours becuase of an avalanche didn't help because I missed every connection on the way back.
Anyway, the real reason for this post, is that I need help catching up. I am...
I rough turned this large green sycamore blank in January 07

Soaked it in DNA and wrapped it up for drying But started new job and had to move
I got back to it Yesterday man this wood is hard but I enjoyed working with it...
I got around to finishing the fan back windsor chair this week end. The finish is 2 coats of barn red milk paint, 3 coats of black milk paint, rubbed with 0000 steel wool and 200 grit sand paper, and a coat of Minwax Antique Oil. I included pics of the milk paint stages. That stuff is miserable...
Hi everybody, It's been a spell. I have been real busy lately sawing 6"x6"x18' red & white oak posts for a customer. Things were going fine and all of a sudden the post I was working on started showing an 1/8 inch out of square. At first I thought it might be stress in the log, so I threw it...
Well after a good long vacation / wedding - I'm back sawing logs again. Everything started up after being down for 2 1/2 weeks :-D. Blades still sharpen the same way and the mill still cuts the same way. Walnut logs are still nasty to saw but make beautiful lumber. Yep everything is pretty much...
Well.. mostly. My inlaws are now gone, and I have the computer room to myself now for the most part at nights again. Wife still has pins in her arm, but I should be able to poke around at nights again. Pins come out hopefully 2 weeks from tomorrow. I think she'll feel much better when those...
Finally getting back to woodworking and actually spent some time in the shop yesterday and today. I finally finished reassembling my jointer and installing the Shelix!!!
First, though, I replaced two small parts that had probably broken when I got the jointer a few years back- little cast...
All,
I just got a confirmation email that my new machinery just shipped from Grizzly. (Pre-gloat)
The major issue I have now is how to get it off the truck. Overnite charges more for lift-gate service and that's just to the bottom of your driveway, and my driveway is a steep.
So I was...
Was in the Dollar Tree store over by Crossroads ( Cary/ Raleigh) yesterday, and spotted a fresh rack of AG-13 alkiline batteries. These fit the HF digital calipers, both metal and plastic. They are also common in toys that talk. You get eight for a buck. Not a bad deal, considering Wal-Mart and...
That was nice, and ran into some ncwwer-netters.
It was nice talking to those who I met before on
this site.
And I was satisfied with the FWW #1 & #2 (unexpected) and the
pig-stick found after the lunch.

Hello All,
Does anyone have a copy of Fine Wood Working magazine # 171 & 172 they would sell me, loan me or make a copy of the Pennsylvania Tall Clock article by Lonnie Bird. I check with FWW for the back issues and they are out of #171. I will be happy to reimburse anyone for any expense...
Well,
I bought this RAS last year from a couple of freinds that own a woodwork shop. I was the 1st owner, buying it back in 1988. I sold it (along with a shop full of equipment) to them in 1990 so they could start there business.
I've been working on a folding extension table, a few...
I was working on two end tables this weekend that I'm building for the church. The legs are tapered on two sides and since they will be painted, I made them out of some soft maple that I had around. After cutting the tapers on the TS I took them to the bench to clean up with a plane. Every plane...
