I turned this today for my Dad's Christmas. The bowl was rough turned 10+ years ago by Ron Mechling. I bought several rough turnings from him when he got away from turning. The species was not marked on the blank. Any idea what it is? The wood had a yellow color to it, and was fairly hard, like turning oak. I'm sure part of the hardness is from being completely dried out. I was happy with how it turned out, considering the few bowls I've done. I used Mylands Friction Finish.
