Wood Identification

Unusual unfinished slab. Making a charcuterie board out of it. Can you guess what kind of wood? I know what it is - just thought it may be interesting what you all think it is…

I’ll give you a hint: It does not grow in NC, but in the south central, and southwest USA

Yes! Mesquite.. came out of San Antonio, Texas. I was surprised to see such a wide slab. I always thought mesquite trees were pretty small, This was about 18” across.

Honey mesquite? John Tisdale "Planet Mesquite" is quite a bit larger than 18"

Here, In Hawaii we have Keawe (k-ah-veh) it is a a Mesquite it gets pretty big. 12-24" is a normal size trunk.
