Here it is 553 pieces of maple, yellow heart and bloodwood and a walnut plug in the center of the bottom :gar-La;

It had me worried turning the bottom, but it didnt get away:eusa_danc

After everyone's comments, the lady next door and Matthew (mraudio) looking at it and listening to the wife I went ahead and cut the neck down :argue:
If I should do another I am going to do something different on the top, just dont know what:nah:

Thanks for looking

It's awesome Earl, as are all your segmented turnings. I see you went glossy with the finish this time :icon_thum

Beautiful piece!

When did you start hiring professional models to hold your work for the camera?

Impressive Earl, SUPER impressive!

I don't think I would have the patience for all those glue ups not to mention cutting out all those small pieces.

I think that it is awesome!

How do you prep for something like that? The spacing is perfect, etc.

How do you glue it up?

A gaggle of questions!

the segments are cut to size first, each row being a different size, then glued on using a gluing platform and an index wheel

Nicely done as always!
Have you considered a tutorial on segmenting?

Earl did one in the How To Forum a while back. :icon_thum
