Well I'm building the prospect box that fits behind the prospect door in the center of the gallery portion of the desk. I have been fooling with some dye mix tests and I'm getting close the curly maple is a little tricky to get it to move toward the crotch walnut tones. I am using the Prospect door(crotch) to get a good color. Its close to the veneer I cut for the desk drawers.
At this point I think I will add just a tad of red to bring the maple more towards the red walnut tones.
