Hi all,
I'm starting a modified adirondac-style rocker for a friend pregnant with twins. I have a set of rockers, one of which I took apart and made templates. This rocker is attached with carriage bolts, but I intend to join with true joinery (dowels, M&T, lap joints). I got a bit excited and cut my components already (before planning joints:eusa_doh: ). I think I have figured out the joints though. My main concern is balancing the rocker. The original is built out of cedar, and mine is 8/4 white oak. I am worried about the weight difference between the two and wonder if I am going to run into trouble with the balance. Any thoughts? Pics will follow soon. Thanks in advance!
