One of the things that held us up on the bylaws was that North Carolina Law was not particularly friendly to non profit organizations using "electronic" organization. But in Nov of last year, the state changed a few things. The most important is that we can vote by "email":eusa_danc:eusa_danc Of course to do that we must do some things in a certain way.

So without going through all the details, this is our bottom line on this first Ballot for a new Board of Directors. Assuming we have enough candidates, On or about May 1st, Doug will make the formal announcement of the vote and who the candidates are. You will then be sent a ballot via email and you will then have a specified amount of time to return that ballot by email.

So you can see that proxies will not play an important part. Since you do not have to be physically present for your vote to count. However proxies can be used. Right now the only reason to use a proxy is that you can't or don't want to vote. In that case, there will be a proxy form you can fill out, giving another Member the right to vote for you. But the proxy can delivered by email and the Member can exercise your proxy by email.

In the case of the BOD election, it is part of the annual Member's Meeting which will be held at the Picnic. we will have paper ballots avaiable, if you wish to vote in person, but I strongly encourage you to vote by email.

By law we have to have a member's meeting, but there will be only two items on the agenda, the announcement of the elections results and a vigorous discussion of BBQ:rotflm:
