Well, after seeing DAVEO's drum and reading the article, I decide to make my own. It turned out "ok" ... but practice makes perfect.

Looking at the directions I thought "well, it doesn't get much easier than this" ... I was wrong.

The design is simple, but the between the jig saw cuts, messy and brittle Paduak, and fussy glue-up ... I had a "fun" few hours. In the end, it worked out. Here's my pic.

Jeremy, it looks great. I too thought it would be very easy, but it's not as easy as it looks. Did you use a jigsaw to cut the tongues? What do you plan to finish it with? I ended up using lacquer.

Sounds like sweet music ...

I did use the jig saw with a 20 TPI Bosch blade. It cut pretty good, though I broke one of the blades (ouch!).

Not sure about finish ... probably laquer. I'll have to see what I have around here.
