I am a hobbyist woodworker. I consider myself to be somewhat accomplished with a modest portfolio of handmade furniture, and an extensive portfolio of do-it-yourself home improvement and home maintenance projects. I have a small but well-equipped shop with a tool collection that has accumulated over my 66 years. I am a 'hybrid' woodworker, with an interest in learning how the way the old-timey-woodworkers did, but I still resort to power tools often.
I retired two years ago from the IT profession with the plan to spend much more time in my shop. Alas, I am so busy with 'projects' of my own, plus projects from family, friends and friends of friends that I have been unable to immerse myself as planned.
And that brings me to NC Woodworker. I was searching for ideas for a Cub Scout Project (another 'family' project) on the Woodworking Community FB Group and it was suggested that I look here.
