Another great Tall Vise workshop is complete. Pop-Pops great design and instruction, plus Charlie's perfectly tuned workshop and Michaels expert assistance made for a very productive day.
Everybody left with a well made and fine tuned vise. It was nice to see the youngest student soaking up all the knowledge and woodworking wisdom he could. The instructional staff had over 250 years of woodworking experience to share
Here are some photos: (second photo is rare - actual wood shavings and saw dust on Charlie's shop floor)

By my count, thirty-two of these tall vises exist and are probably still in NC.

Twenty-one in three NCWW workshops, a six vise commission, a picnic raffle donation, two donated for teaching, and two others that Phil and I use as our duty vises.

These vises are part of my legacy and I hope that a ‘puterized spelling corrector does not change vises to vices in my obit.

Mike, 32 vises is a good start, but you can’t start writing your obit until you are in the neighborhood of 132…only then will we know you are genuinely serious about them. That said, your legacy in the world of woodworking is secure vises (vices) or not!

If any of the members that attended the workshop happened to have a 1/8" Narex Mortiseing Chisel follow them home, it's siblings are lonesome. Lol.
Seriuosly, the way I sometimes misplace things, I will probably find it in the fridge, microwave, who knows.

Hope you find it. I did use a couple of chisels that were on the big table, but both were close to 3/4 to an inch wide.

I don't recall seeing anything that small out on the table. Hopefully it is just visiting with a cousin a few drawers away!

David, I'm sure it's partying with all the other items that I misplace. I can never find their party location though. Lol.
