Spraying Shellac?

Rookie sprayer question ... can I pump shellac out my HVLP gun? Is this safe?

I'm looking to put a sealer coat on a bed I'm working on before topping it with Target Coatings Oxford USL: Clear Semi-Gloss,1 Gal. (http://www.targetcoatings.com/shop/catalog/Oxford_Ultima_Water_Based_Spray_Lacquer_Series-24-1.html)

Tarhead - Any chance another group buy on shellac (from http://shellacfinishes.biz/) will happen again soon?

Shoot away. I've used a 1# cut with pretty good success.

If by "pump" you mean can you spray shellac in your HVLP gun, the answer is yes, you should have no problem.

You can do it, but remember, you are spraying alcohol, and alcohol is highly flammable.

FWIW, I have done it, and it is a sweet thing. Be safe and overly cautious. JMTCW
