After making a number of travel mugs for others over the years, I finally decided to turn one for myself.

I can not imagine a nicer piece of wood than this spalted Pecan.

I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Phillip,

The kit actually came from an old McDonald's McCoffee promotional plastic cup I received years ago.

I just cut off the plastic exterior and used the stainless liner and the plastic lid.

In the past I've used the Woodcraft kit.

Jim,

That is one Awesome Looking Mug~! Love the Grain~!

Just one observation, your date stamp from your camera is a little off, it said 5-2-2011. Just thought I would let you know.

Thanks for sharing and way to recycle~!

Yes, I think the spalting is unbelievable as well, but No I didn't have anything to do with the spalting.

That's what I found while cutting a few bowl blanks.
