Spalted Maple Pair

I got a call from someone who bought one of my pens from a local gallery... they wanted a matching pen and pencil to go with the fountain pen they bought. Yipee! :eusa_danc Well here's the set I just finished.

I think that they will be very happy with them :eusa_clap:eusa_clap. How does the pencil mechanism work, I have only done push type pencils?

Great looking pen/pencils! What kits did you use? Doe the pencil have an eraser somewhere?

Dave, it's a twist mechanism. As a matter of fact, both are twist mechs.

cskipper, the kit is called a classic american. And, yes the pencil top pops off to use the eraser. I don't particularly like the approach since the clip has to slide up the side of the pencil top as you remove it. Has to be heck on the finish.

Keep your fingers crossed.
If those are teh "American Classic" from WoodCraft they are Berea flattops.
I have had a 505 failure rate with the tranny in the pens.
It is the most convoluted Mickey Mouse arrangement I have ever seen.
Aside from that the pencil kit is overpriced.That is why I went to a "Perfect Fit"
make two identical pens and swith out the pne mech to a Schmidtt pencil mech for a coule of bucks.
They look great, I love the traditional style of that PArker look a like just the tranny mech is garbage.
