PSI Versa-Chisel

Does any one have the proper way to sharpen the PSI Versa-Chisel (Spindelmaster Clone). Do you shapen the bevel or the flat top like PSI claims.
My wife wanted these after a pretty interesting catch when I was showing her how to use a skew. She saw in some turning book that these are easier to use. Kind of looks like a scraper to me.

I would sharpen the bevel as they look more like a scraper than any other chisel. Although a cutting edge is formed between two intersecting flat surfaces, so knocking the burr of the top flat and making sure it does provide a flat intersection would help also. I would be curious as to how you or your wife likes that tool. I am looking into getting some better turning tools, and that looks like something I would use, if it performs well.

I have two of them and like them a lot. Use them in all sorts of ways sometime like scraping and some time like a skew. I sharpened it on the bevel and keep the shape comparing the general shape. Harry
