Anyone have advice on whether a Powermatic 66 would be preferable to the newer PM2000 table saw?

I would go for the PM2000 but only because it has a riving knife where the PM66 does not. Oh and it also has built in wheels.

Tim,

I love my PM2000. It is a great saw. But if I were to do it again I might get a Grizzly as they are lower in cost and some have more features.

I do love love love the built in casters. It helps when I was in a small shop to be able to move it around to cut the pieces I needed to. But I think there are a few Grizzly's with casters as well. And with the extra savings, I would surely get another tool.

PS I got mine in 2008 for $2100 and that was with a 10% discount. I think the saw is now closer to $3000 at least for the work bench with vise style.

I have owned both. I prefer my PM2000 over my 66. The riving knife and wheels are great. Also the inside cabinet is designed better for dust pick up.
