I was playing with some cypress and my current deck box was not holding up well. I decided that cypress was probably the best wood for an outdoor project. So my smoking chips are now housed in this cypress deck box. I originally put hinges on it but did not have three hinges alike, so I built a skirt around the top to keep it sealed. Some of the cypress is from Jackleg and some of it is from The Woodworking Source. Thanks for looking.

The left side holds hickory chips, the right side holds mesquite chips. Nothing fancy but much better than what I previously had. And as usual my son (02 ranger) helped with this project.

Nice work! I have been using the stuff in my dust collector lately for the grill. One of the fringe benefits of working with so much maple...
