Meeting Agenda, Western NC WW Club

Here is the basic agenda for Saturday's Meeting at the Folk Art Center for our first meeting (1-3PM, Saturday, May 6th). I'm planning to bring some sodas and bottled water with cups -- if anyone can bring some cookies or whatever, we can have a snack at the break.

Randy Osborne (aka Ozzie-x) has asked everyone to bring a plane or chisel for Show & Tell (could be a gem or a tool-in-need).


12:45-1:05 - Sign-in and Welcome
1:05 - 1:30 - Club Organization, Election of Officers, Decision on Dues
1:30 - 2:15 - Main Program: Randy Osborne and Steve Deweese, with Marty Baucom

• General discussion about planes, bench planes, block planes and specialty planes.
• Member show & tell
• Finding planes in the "wild" and returning them to service. Include general clean up, repair, and tuning. (Sharpening will come last).
• General discussion about chisels, bench, paring, mortising, butt, crank neck, etc.

2:15 - 2:25 Break

• Member show & tell.
• Hand sharpening and honing.
• Tormek demo by Marty Baucom.

3:00 - 3:15 Clean-up and Adjourn.
