I have used this jointer for about 10 years and flattened thousands of board feet, but now there is a gradual freeplay in the infeed handle.. I have to turn the handle almost a full 360 degrees to make any change in the infeed table height..
Does anyone know how I tighten up this freeplay?
Thanks in advance.

Dennis,
Some part of the adjusting mechanism has obviously worked loose. In the exploded diagram in the manual, it's not real apparent what it is unless it is one of the locking knobs for the adjusting shaft. You will just have to dig into it and see what has worked loose. If you don't have the owners manual, here's a link to it on the Jet site:

I had that jointer many years ago before upgrading. Forgive the simplicity of this, but have you checked the allen screws in the handle? That has bitten me on more than one occassion. If that isn't it, it sounds like some play has developed in the gears. Check underneath and feel around is something is loose.

With the tool unplugged that is.
