Hello. My name is Jim Kakacek and I am a woodworking enthusiast. I am an active member of Charlotte Woodworkers Association and Mid-West Tool Collectors. For those of you who are members of these organizations, I am the guy who makes his own tools. I collect, restore, and use antique tools. I joined NC Woodworkers to seek out new methods, tips on "how to", wood types and sources. Hope to see you at at the next M-WTCA tool meeting, Jim

40 years ago I made my tools because I didn’t have cash to buy them. Now I make some partly for the same reason and partly because I like to design and build something different.

I think those first ones I made are my best.
