Last Christmas a fellow NC Woodworker showed me how to make a few boxes for presents. Now I've decided to try on my own from start to finish.

I'm hoping my "instructor" will agree. Not too shabby for the first box all on my own.

Jim not too shabby at all, looks like Tom taught you well. I like your corner details. I've been squintin' at the pics trying to figure out what you did. It looks a little like a rabbet joint but it also looks like you inlayed a corner post in there. What didcha do :icon_scra:icon_scra
Great job, what kind of wood...ERC and Oak???

Dave:)

Dave,

You're right. Just a rabbet joint, but with an inlay for the corners.

Corners are Cherry which I selected because they will darken. Box is Red Oak with an ERC top.

Also, a deep thanks for helping out on my son's drainage problem.
