Has anyone had to replace the drive belt on their Harbor Freight 34706 lathe?
I have just broken mine and am hoping there is a generic equivalent I can get somewhere like an auto parts place instead of having to go through HF.

Thanks very much,
Jim Lee

Sweet Thanks Jim for posting, I seemed to miss the last one, as I wasn't a member yet. And didn't search.

Thanks Earl for your post, that place is close, I think I will pick one up before I head out west.

Unless it is a really odd pulley system, you can usually take the broken belt into any auto parts place and they will measure and give you one like it. Usually it is actually stretched an inch or so, but they know that. If you don't have the old belt, you can use a rope tied the right length. Just don't use anything too stretchy.

Thanks guys. Per usual your responses were spot on. Up and running again with a much more substantial looking belt from NAPA.

Thanks,
Jim Lee
