Dog Bed

A friend of mine on facebook posted this photo. I'd bet it came out of some Wood
Working mag.

Anyway I like the idea and saw right away how to improve
it.

I'd make piece like an over sized night stand. It would have a lid
with a nice wood table top on one side and the other side would be the dog bed
side. You take off the top and inside the stand would be the dog's bedding. You
take out the dog bed and flip the top to the sleeping side with raised rails to
hold the dog's bed in place.

Next would be the steps. In the photo they
look like three separate pieces. I'd have them built into the night stand and
look like drawers with handles. When you pull the bottom drawer out the next one
up will follow then the top one will follow that one and now the dog will have a
staircase to climb into it's bed.

That's pretty neat. I need to make a ramp/stairs for ours, although looking at how dirty she is right now, I may not want her in the bed!
